“Listen” campaign for a discussion with the state on national reconciliation process; Ahanna
With the end of the 30-year conflict, it was expected that Sri Lankans would stand together as one nation thereby ensuring peace, reconciliation and mutual respect. Although a decade has elapsed, there has been no appropriate mechanism or agenda to build national reconciliation. As a result, it was recently observed that there have been several cases where trust and religious harmony were eroded. To address these issues and to ensure guarantees for non-recurrence, the Ministry of Finance and Mass Media has introduced a programme called ‘Ahanna’ (listen) to unite people of all ethnicities as one nation.
